From nature’s bosom to your plate
Samkna is the first ever open water offshore aquaculture project in the state of Qatar. The project was established in 2015 by White Rocks Holding, with specific focus on the objectives of Qatar’s National Vision 2030.
Offshore Infrastructure
Our fish farm is situated at the most optimal location for an offshore facility and is 50 km away from the coast in the northeast marine area of Al Ruwais. The total marine site majestically spans across 900,000 square meters. The project infrastructure includes 16 floating cages, meticulously positioned for the cultivation of fish of high economic value. The facility is equipped with a fully automated feed barge for storing fodder and feeding the fish, which is proficiently managed by an experienced team of 70 experts. The location yields excellent water resources, and the natural attributes ensure impeccable cultivation of the fish.
Onshore Infrastructure
In addition to the offshore facility, we have established an onshore factory in Al Ruwais, built on an area of 10,000 square meters. The facility provides a factory system firmly established in a controlled environment. The system includes 15 refrigerated rooms to receive harvests at temperatures of between 0 - 4 degrees Celsius, in order to maintain the highest standards of biosecurity that ensure the quality of the final product. The factory system provides all facets of the post-harvesting process such as packaging, wrapping etc. to ensure our customers receive a comprehensive high-quality product.
